Focus and Scope
The journal of Tropical Agricultural Research and Extension [TARE] is a peer-reviewed open-access journal to promote agricultural research and development as a research medium and an important reference for the advancement and dissemination of agricultural research. The journal publishes the most exciting, high-quality original research papers, short communications, invited reviews, case studies, book reviews, opinions, commentaries and notes on emerging fields and concepts of agriculture in tropical and subtropical areas to provide future directions. Journal maintains prompt publication of manuscripts that meet the general criteria of scientific excellence. The publications include both applied and basic research covering the broad practical significance of tropical agriculture. The subject areas covered include genetic resources, genetics and plant breeding, agronomy, crop improvement, crop physiology, plant protection, weed science, ecology and sustainable management of tropical and subtropical agricultural environments, restoration of degraded environments, forestry and agroforestry, utilization and domestication of under-exploited plant and animal resources, biotechnological applications, horticulture, perennial crops, animal science including fisheries, food science, post-harvest technology, agricultural meteorology, water management, agricultural engineering and technology, farming systems, soil and soil management, microbiology, agricultural statistics, agricultural policy, agricultural economics, extension and education.

Publication Frequency
The Journal of Tropical Agricultural Research and Extension- Sri Lanka published four issues a year in March, June, September, and December.
Subscription Policy
All research articles published in TARE are freely available immediately to everyone to read, download and share. A limited number of printed copies are also published every year and to purchase printed copies contact TARE editorial office.Open Access Policy

Archiving Policy
